Well, um, not quite sure what to say. Not something I expected to see in the fantasy category, don’t get me wrong, from what it seems, it is definitely someone’s fantasy and from the comments, a disturbing one at that.
Normally I would just laugh & ignore it, but this needs to be said. I have no problem with explicit sex, I don’t choose to read or listen to it, but understand the appeal.
Again this is strictly my own opinion.
The only reason for this comment is the thin line the author chose. This may be “fantasy” but it sounds more like assault at the minimum but closer to rape.
Again this is only my opinion.
So when I see comments about the narrator sounding like a child, it set off alarms, 2 of the most loathsome actions I have a zero tolerance policy for, I felt compelled to post.
Sex is fine, in whatever way or persuasion you want, as long as it involves consent & maturity.
I am in no way shape or form criticizing any post any person and my intention is not to bash this book. I just want to make sure what it looks like after taking a step back.
I am no pillar of morality and my hypocrisy knows no bounds, I am not insulting, judging or trying to shame anyone. I have no right to do so nor does anyone online. Just a different perspective and one that is most likely irrelevant or incorrect.
Yes I know I sound condescending and arrogant, pick other adjectives and I am probably those as well. I just believe there are some lines u never cross and some u never approach & this hit to close.
All of that is still just my opinion and should be treated as an opinion not an attack and never personal.
Especially since I was just looking for a fantasy novel and as the old adage goes, be careful what you look for cause you just may find it…

@redos, please remove the “Fantasy” category. It may be totally unrealistic, but not what fantasy readers are expecting in that section.
Otherwise: The protagonist is an adult accountant, so while this book isn’t literature, it isn’t kiddie porn.
As for the “12 year old” narrator: looked up “Vivian Lee Fox” up on Audible and she’s narrated over 200 books. So not a child labourer.
