Karl Marx, Coauthor of the revolutionary text The Communist Manifesto, grew up in a Christian family, and his early writings showed belief in Christian worldview. Yet in his adulthood, Marx embraced a deep personal rebellion against God and all Christian values. In Karl Marx and the Satanic Roots of Communism, Richard Wurmbrand explores the development of Marx’s antireligious perspective that led to the philosophical foundations of communism.
By examining Marx’s writings as well as biographical accounts, Wurmbrand builds a convincing case that Marx adhered to a belief system that opposes God. This book provides significant insight to why Christians and the church have been targeted by Marxists and Communists alike as it exposes the evil roots of a theory and government system that continue to persecute Christians in the present.

Well, this is completely laughable. God and Satan are fictional characters after all.

Certainly a purely evil doctrine when brutally imposed upon human beings - like all the extreme, mindless l/r ideologies, as we know.

The insanity of religoids - “if he doesn’t believe in my imaginary friend, he must love my imaginary enemy”.
It’s not real, kids.

Satanism is my favorite branch of Christianity. It’s funny how people think Jesus loved capitalism.

Satan is so cool

There’s a lot to criticise Marx for both on a personal level and also his written works and underlying philosophy. But saying he was a Satanist? JFC.

How can anyone take this seriously? Not even children believe in fairytales about gods and devils, and this author claims that “satan” has anything to do with the real world?

To write an entire book on this subject you either have to have a good sense of humor or be completely insane.

Thank you for this book! Satan’s greatest accomplishment has been to convince people that he doesn’t exist. And in that sense, if you don’t believe in him, doesn’t make him NOT real, it just makes it to where you are unable to see the Good News, and that is exactly what he wants. And here is scripture to back it up: “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4). Satan is the god of this world and he works to deceive and blind those who don’t believe in Christ Jesus, by using the allure of money, power, and pleasure. So if you are one who rejects Christ Jesus and prefer your own desires then you have unknowingly made satan your god, and we are not to live of this world with worldly possessions and false gods (John 17:16), but rather live of Christ Jesus in the Holy Spirit where He reigns and He is our One True King.

So let me understand what you are saying. Anyone for any reason that does not worship Christ automatically worships Satan. So as most of the world does not worship Christ they all worship Satan. Got it. Is this correct? Seems pretty judgmental to me to say that if you don’t believe the way I do you worship the ultimate evil. Now if that is true then as a Jew I must worship Satan and so deserve to have my entire family killed by the Nazis. What good Christian would be upset by the deaths of Satan worshipers.

People that are into satan are definitely pretty GAY!
The title of this book is gay also.
but I am a jew and I would take Christianity any day over a bunch of satin worshipping fanboys or gay Communists.

@caesar - Sounds a bit like Christianity. Marxism had good intentions, too. The evil is in people who has the power to put ideals in practice.

@Sauser99… You may just be retarded…

Happy Christmas, illodiini, ol’ chap. Have to say, I was quite convinced of the “Marxist good intentions” line as well, when I was a callow teenager. Experience scotched that. The flaws will out. Its fatally distorted view of anthropology, the self & the family; its toxic take on fundamental human rights, freedom & individual volition; its demand for “concentrated terror,” as Marx said; and its discarding of “people without a history.” The theorists racism towards Slavs & Africans, inter alia. Its fallacious reductionism & tendency towards conspiracy theorising. Even during Marx’s life, the market system was evolving & beneficially reforming, but Marx disingenuously refused to take account of this; so, a misrepresentation & distortion of available data. Marxism an unwieldy & inapplicable metanarrative; unhelpful, indeed destructively harmful, utopic ‘grand theorising’ about the world is not relevant – rather than trying to “destroy the village in an effort to save it” in this way, society benefits from carefully focused, gradual reform of more specific & localised issues. Also, the clear, demonstrated flaw of concentration of power (destruction of liberal democracy) & authoritarianism; the catastrophe of unaccountable central planning.
Yes, indeed there are evil people - in all guises. This is something Christianity admits in acknowledging the profound flaws in human nature. As the other guy says up there, I’ll take Christianity, with its creation of the concept & doctrine of human rights, the university, the hospital, global charity, famine relief, universal love & forgiveness over forced, centrally planned famines, death camps, planned genocides & empty materialism any of the week (& twice 2day).

You do that, my good caesar. I, too, like traditions, y’know, the tree, the food, the killed pig etc.
But when I’m allowed to, and capable, I’ll do my thinking myself. That rules out all the religions and most of the political movements. I tend to forgive the superstitious trappings of Christianity mostly, when it’s obviously practicing good deeds. Not always, though.

Calpurnia’s got a turkey on the go, the kids are watching Polar Express (again), but we’re leaving the pig in peace this annus.
You’ll enjoy this, as another language & food-lover: following the Norman-French invasion of England, a great deal of French words came into English (the Normans replaced/killed the English aristos).
P’haps 45% of the vocab is ultimately French-derived (the rest is Germanic, with some Latin & Greek).
So, expressions dealing with power, govt, military & naval affairs (ur own wheelhouse, of course, as a Viking), the language of administration, ecclesiastical affairs, law, fashion, food, social life, art, learning & medicine was Frenched up.
(But here’s the relevant culinary bit -) The English peasantry farmed cows, sheep & pigs on the land - all “Anglo-Saxon” (or Old English) words.
By the time these tasty morsels had arrived at the dining table of the Norman ascendancy, they had linguistically transmogrified into the more Francophonie beef, mutton & pork/bacon. (Bacon is also a Norman-French surname.)
In any event, hope Yule have the very Happiest of Christmases, & all the best for the coming annus also.
December 25th, 2022
Hope you’ll have a mercifully happy Christmas with your family and friends! How kind of you not to eat the Bacons. We’ll continue this the coming annus, I’m sure.

The general idea of Christianity is a sound one. As is the basic idea of Buddhism. Yet with all its teachings it has been abused by some who wish to pervert the basic idea of being forgiving and loving your fellow man. What scares me the most is people that take one or two lines out of the entire Bible to justify there own cause. Like saying anyone that does not believe the way I do is automatically worshiping Satan. I find this a easy way to spread hate to anyone that does not believe as you do. People have to remember that the greatest evil is committed by thinking you are doing good. Hitler and to a lesser extent Stalin believed they were doing the right thing for humanity. Millions died to these people yet if you asked them point blank they would tell you that what they did was just and had to be done for the greater good. Labeling all non Christians as Satan worshipers allows this kind of thinking. This is why I disagree with the very concept of this book.
December 26th, 2022
And yet some people are both Christian and marxist. Even Pope John Paul II’s teaching on human labor was heavily influenced by Marx. Demonizing marxism is something no serious scholar or thinker would do, even if they rejected it.
Anyone interested in a serious presentation of Marx’s basic ideas that responds to conservative propaganda could do worse than the youtube video “PragerU’s 4 Worst Lies about Marx” — which is not a very good title, but it’s a very good video. The video carefully examines Marx’s actual writings on several topics where PragerU spouts nonsense. The video is not academic, but it does require viewers to think hard. The channel is Red Plateuas, whose perspective is libertarian marxist.

I do not know why, but
I sometimes read the comments (on an audiobook site of all things. I do not visit many others this often) to gauge where we might be as a society. . .
I am hopeful after seeing what people have to say on what I think might be pivotal issues transcribed.
God bless all of you—

“Antireligious” means “against religion”. You can’t be pro-Satan if you’re against religion because - *gasp!* - Satan is a religious figure. Communism doesn’t have “satanic roots”, it’s just not Christian, so you people have to find a way to badmouth it.
So, you attach your main bad guy to it as if that somehow means something. “Durhrh not Christian? Must be satanic durhrhr”

Guess I am checking this one just for the laughs. I’m sure I will be back with the obvious update.
