The recording is at 32 kbps, but that is not an issue. It still sounds excellent to my ears. The download went well; it took a little while to find seeders, but once it got started the download was over quickly. It helps that the file size is so small thanks to the low (but still excellent) bitrate.
I am really enjoying this series. I cannot understand how the bestfantasy site could give it a poor review. It is a very different setting from the first book, trading the classic fantasy / medieval setting for the sands of an arabian setting, but the strong characterization is still ever present and the action is exciting and described with gripping detail. I am very fond of fantasy, and this series so far is proving to be of excellent caliber in my book. I admit the rape present in both books is…disturbing, but it certainly isn’t presented in explicit detail and Song of Ice and Fire has plenty of discomfiting material itself, and certainly no worse than that present here.
This is really good fantasy and a really good download. I highly recommend.
