The origin story of one of the most influential and transformative business leaders and philanthropists of the modern age
The business triumphs of Bill Gates are widely known: the twenty-year-old who dropped out of Harvard to start a software company that became an industry giant and changed the way the world works and lives; the billionaire many times over who turned his attention to philanthropic pursuits to address climate change, global health, and U.S. education.
Source Code is not about Microsoft or the Gates Foundation or the future of technology. It’s the human, personal story of how Bill Gates became who he is today: his childhood, his early passions and pursuits. It’s the story of his principled grandmother and ambitious parents, his first deep friendships and the sudden death of his best friend; of his struggles to fit in and his discovery of a world of coding and computers in the dawn of a new era; of embarking in his early teens on a path that took him from midnight escapades at a nearby computer center to his college dorm room, where he sparked a revolution that would change the world.
Bill Gates tells this, his own story, for the first time: wise, warm, revealing, it’s a fascinating portrait of an American life.

“Bill Gates: How I Became the Devil Himself”
February 10th, 2025
Compared to most billionaires, I’d say that Gates has done a lot of good with his ill-gotten gains. That’s not to defend billionaires, simply to note that I don’t see Bezos, Musk, Thiel, or Trump given away money to eradicate diseases, ya know?

2112ohboy I see that you have swallowed the propaganda. Bill Gates IS a disease to humanity. Everything he touches turns to excrement and involves people dying in large numbers…intentionally. He is a front man and paymaster for many of the establishment tentacles. He has colluded to sterilize and murder billions.

@2112ohbiy - someone has been smoking a bit too much from the Alex jones crackpipe/dick.

I believe in science, not conspiracy. Thanks for playing, though.

we wouldn’t be posting comments on this website if it weren’t for Bill Gates.

Bill Gates and Microsoft have created more than 10,000 millionaires out of their employees.
Ill-gotten gains? WTF are you talking about? Have you ever used MS-DOS, Windows 3.11 for Workgroups, 98 Second Edition?
If you mean that he outsmarted most of his competitors, you are right. Business is business. Not charity.
Thank you for the upload. F*ck all these resentful teens.

Thanks for the upload, I like Bill, he ran a business not a charity - but he can run charities and foundations just as well. Watch his depositions on YouTube where he’s getting quizzed about anti-competitive practices, he seems evasive but if you look at the way he acts through the lens of autism it will be clear that he is very probably autistic. Jobs thought computers should be beautiful, Bill gets the blame for them being boxy, gray and dull.
But it wasn’t Microsoft who made the computers. He gets the blame for a lot of stuff that wasn’t his fault or was because customers demanded total backward compatibility.
I’m kind of forced to use Windows, and yes it sucks. Apple designers could see things from a user’s point of view. From a rookie’s point of view. Microsoft programmers seem to have been lacking in empathy and couldn’t put themself in the position of another.
